You are required to pass the theory test before you can take your practical driving test.
The theory test will be taken at a separate location to the driving test.
The cost of the theory test is £31.
For most of the questions you will be given 4 answers for which you will tick the correct box. A typical question could be:
Question: You are driving at night and are dazzled by the headlights of an oncoming car. You should:
A. Slow down
B. Close your eyes
C. Flash your lights
D. Pull down your sun visor
The theory and hazard awareness test replaces the question period at the end of your driving test.
